The Family Action Network of Winchester (FAN)
is a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization that provides
parenting resources and support for Winchester
families with infants and small children. FAN is a
vibrant, active, member-based network, currently
consisting of approximately 350 local families. FAN
provides a wide array of activities and events for
children and adults alike, and contributes a great
deal to what makes Winchester such a desirable
place for young families to live.
We communicate with our members through
the FAN newsletter, which is full of information
about FAN activities, around town events,
parenting advice, and more. We also publish the
“Best of Winchester” recourse guide and the only
comprehensive “Preschool Survey” for Winchester
and surrounding towns.
Our family-oriented special events are extremely
popular, including our annual Families and Fire
Trucks event, Halloween Party, and Barn Babies
Petting Zoo. Children enjoy participating in weekly
playgroups, music concerts, and holiday crafts. For
parents, FAN provides evening social gatherings and
the ever popular Welcome Back Party.
We strive to teach families about the importance
of charity and giving back to our community though
our “Community Connection” Program. FAN is
organized by a volunteer board and its committees.
